Terms of service

These are the rules for using Talento. They are meant to be read by the people who actually use the app — athletes, their parents, and coaches — so they are written plainly.

Talento is operated by Ferris Labs ("we", "us"). By creating an account you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, don't use the app.

Before launch: add the registered company name, address and company number, and have a Ghanaian lawyer read this through.

Who can use Talento

• You must be 13 or older to have an account.
• If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms and give consent in the app before your clips can be seen publicly. Until then only verified coaches can see them.
• If you sign up as a coach or scout, you must be a real person acting for a real club or academy, and you must tell us the truth during verification. Posting trials, inviting athletes and searching players are only available once we have verified you.
• One account per person. Don't share your sign-in with anyone.

What you upload

Your clips stay yours. By uploading one you give us permission to store it, process it (compress it and run the movement analysis), and show it inside Talento to the people the app is designed to show it to — the feed, and verified coaches. That permission ends when you delete the clip or your account, except for copies in backups that are deleted on their normal schedule.

You may only upload a clip if:

• you filmed it or have the right to use it;
• you are the athlete in it — Talento is not for posting footage of other people;
• everyone else who appears in it is happy to be there;
• it isn't taken from a broadcast, a stream or someone else's account.

What isn't allowed

• Pretending to be someone else, or making a profile for someone who hasn't agreed to it.
• Nudity or sexual content, violence, hate, harassment or bullying.
• Contacting or attempting to meet a minor outside the trials and invites the app provides.
• Asking athletes or their families for money to attend a trial, or to be scouted.
• Posting trials for clubs that don't exist, or that you don't represent.
• Scraping the app, working around its limits, or trying to reach data that isn't yours.

You can report any clip, trial or profile from the "…" menu in the app. We review reports and may remove content, suspend an account or remove it entirely.

Trials, invites and what we don't promise

Trials are run by clubs and coaches, not by us. We check that a coach is who they say they are before they can post a trial, but we are not a party to what happens at it, and we don't run, supervise or insure it. Deciding whether to attend — and, for a minor, whether a parent or guardian goes along — is your decision.

We don't promise that you will be scouted, invited, accepted, or offered anything. The movement analysis measures how you move; it is a starting point for a coach and not a judgement of your ability or your future.

Your account

Keep your password to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has it. You can delete your account at any time in Profile → Privacy & safety, which removes your profile, clips and applications for good.

We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms, that puts someone at risk, or that we are required to act on by law. Where we can, we'll tell you why.

Changes to the app

Talento is being built, so features will change and some may be removed. We may change these terms; if a change matters we will say so in the app before it takes effect.

Liability

We provide Talento as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for what happens at a trial, for decisions a club makes, for anything you lose by relying on a rating, or for content other people post. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
